Meet the Feebles
This is your collection of contestants in the RocketCon Music League
Adrianne - my wife and reigning champ. She loves pop music, alternative rock and symphonic metal.
Bottle (Nicole) - they are a new contestant this season, referred by Music League host Von. Bottle is K-pop megafan.
Cledys (KC) - we met on the Dice Tower cruise and became fast friends. He likes pop punk and the blues. First time contender.
Deena - “Let me put you in the picture, Let me show you what I mean, The [second place finisher] is my sister.” She loves metal and alternative rock.
FunnymanJ (Jeff) - He came into our group via Kat. He finished 5th last time. He also loves the band Dollar Signs.
Gray - Ze joined the league this season and is also Adrianne’s cousin. Ze is a regular at RocketCon and loves musicals.
Ignustus (Geoffrey) - Also Adrianne’s cousin, a exceptionally great board game player and a regular RocketCon attendee. He loves metal, especially tech metal. He finished 13th.
Joe - Joe and I met at Blockbuster video and then played in a band for 8 years. He loves Ted Leo and Green Day. He is a former RocketCon attendee due to family commitments. He finished 6th last season.
Julia - she came to us via a recommendation from my friend Dan (you’ll learn more about him later). She is coming to her first RocketCon this year with her fiancee! I don’t know her as well, so her music tastes are a bit of a mystery to me. She finished 10th last season.
Kat - Kat has been coming to RocketCon since the beginning (with a little break). She likes alternative rock with a bit of goth flair. She is also one of the sweetest human beings alive and curates the movies at RocketCon. She finished 9th last season.
Kevin - Kevin and I were in a band when I was in college. We have stayed friends for 2+ decades. He is currently drumming for Plastic Flamingos and loves emo, punk and hardcore. He was my biggest fan last round, which means he has excellent taste. He has never come to RocketCon, boo this man. He finished 14th last time out.
mcflynnthm (Flynn) - We have been friends for a long time, both “worked” as editors at Punknews and have been on many adventures. He has been to every RocketCon and is a (loveable) monster. I would say he has excellent taste in music, but last round he submitted Jimmy Buffett songs almost exclusively (and they were all on topic, which is both disgusting and impressive). He finished 12th via Stockholm Syndrome.
Oven (Owen) - Deena’s son a.k.a. my nephew. Owen has been coming to RocketCon for years, loves musicals, rock music and Chase Rice. He finished 7th last season.
Me. If you’re reading this and you don’t know me - I have a Substack that you can read and learn more. I finished 3rd because people don’t believe that Swervedriver makes excellent wrestling intro music. I still disagree!
Sniglet (Dan) - Dan and I met when I was working at 2nd and Charles. I hosted weekly board game nights there and he was a regular attendee. He has been to every RocketCon since then. He is a maybe this year because he’s is going to be a father around that time! He loves metal, especially technical metal and bonded with Geoffrey over it. He finished 16th and never waivered from his commitment to his favorite bands.
SuperMacguyver (also Dan, this one stylized himself as Theman [pronounced theeeman]) - Dan loves to be referred to his title, Merch Guy. He’s my primary antagonist and someone I’ve been great friends with for a long, long time. He has excellent taste in music, joining last season at the very end and still managing to finish 15th. He never comes to RocketCon, despite D4th of July not being a thing anymore. Primary Antagonist.
Thaneofthomas (Thomas) - Thomas is Deena’s second son, so also my nephew. He finished 11th last season but is looking to make some noise this season. He loves alt rock and is on his way to being an excellent bassist.
Yvonne - the first two times I met Von were at my Bachelor Party and then at a gay bar. The second time she was gushing about this guy she had met, one Mr. Flynn! And now they are married! Von loves Annie and hates Blink-182. She is a regular at RocketCon having attended them all! She finished 4th by one point and is the host and admin of our music league.
